Ahh it’s done

Well the election is over.  Whether or not you like how the vote turned out, we have a new President-Elect.  Obama pulled out a huge victory, by an even greater margin than I suspected.  Looking back over the past year or two, I think the thing that has impressed me the most is how many [...]

Election Day Special

Happy election day folks!  Instead of throwing a last minute “vote for so and so” post up, I thought I would keep it far less… directional than that.  Though followers of this site are probably quite familiar with the fact that I am not a fan of either of the two main candidates. Regardless – [...]

Lunch Break with Jake: 10/27/08

Came across this one this morning – and it is scary. The Constitution reflects a fundamental flaw with this country?  I am pretty sure that the duly elected President of the United States of America swears to uphold and defend the Constitution. What is not being said about the economy?

Ramit over on the “I will Teach you to be Rich” blog has an excellent post about what is not being said about the economy.  He focuses on the two presidential candidates.  (He wrote it after one of the debates.)  However I tend to agree with a lot of what he has to say and [...]

Tyranny of the majority

Currently 33% of Americans have zero, *zero*, tax liability. This is the 33% that McCain and Obama continue to talk about helping. With their tax plans… that is projected to increase to 43% and 44% respectively. What does that mean? It means an increasing percentage of our countries population take no part in funding the government they *expect* to receive services from.
