Now I have been feeling a bit of the BSG shakes lately. You know, Friday night withdrawal. (Still hoping to get my hands on the BSG Box Set with all seasons.)

Caprica is coming out soon and the Extended Pilot Episode is available on Syfy.com and is actually worth watching. I am still not convinced the show will be as good as BSG, but the pilot was enough to make me give it a chance. However, if you too are missing BSG, the vid linked on Geeks are Sexy today should bring a smile to your face. Take a look:

Today I wanted to share one of my favorite comics I discovered in the last year. I think anyone who was worked in a corporate office environment will appreciate this, though it follows IT guys specifically.

A Checklist of Obama’s many promises – Via IBDeditorials.com (Fairly comprehensive list… like McCain, Obama made a lot of promises to his supporters. Though like most Presidents, we know there is no way to get through them all in 4 years.)

How Twitter is a Communications Game Changer – Via Web Worker Daily (Makes some interesting points and helped confirm to me that Twitter is a communications tool that I want to try and make use of.)

50 biggest movies of 2009 lineup – Via Geeks are Sexy (Waiting on the Harry Potter and Star Trek ones the most myself!)

Some British Schools Stop Teaching About Holocaust Because It’s Not Politically Correct – Via Say Anything Blog (I couldn’t believe this one when I read it. The whole point of teaching it is because it isn’t politically correct. It should make people uncomfortable! “Those who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it.”)

Ok ok… blog time!

So I got told I am a slacker and don’t blog enough. (Well the exact words were… you must be boring since you never blog anymore… close enough to slacker.) Well most of this is a repost of my MySpace blog… but I am adding to it, so it will be even longer than the first time I posted this morning! (Got busy at work… yea I really do work )
It is true though that I have been horrible at keeping everyone updated. Or even posting to my blog for myself. I think it really comes down to all of the little side projects I have got going, and work, have distracted me from keeping everyone else informed of what is going on in Jakeland.

So what are those side project? Do they really exist? They certainly do. The most exciting one, though probably least time consuming at the moment, (overall time, not time spent thinking about it) is that a friend and I are working on writing a book together. You see, I have always wanted to write my own book, but have never really gotten far in doing so. I always get frustrated and restart it, give up, etc. Well, our theory is that together we are sparking more ideas, forcing each other to write, and generally making far more progress and either of is had individually.

Of course… my other project has far less lofty goals. World of Warcraft has indeed been taking up some of my time. It is an enjoyable game, and I have plenty of friends who play on it as well, so that makes it even more fun.

Other than those two projects though… mostly just work and dart league here in town. Dart League is going pretty well. We won our first week, and loss in a tie breaker this last monday, so the team is doing well and having a good time. Work… well I leave for Miami on Tuesday, and come back sometime on Friday. Hopefully before 6, because I was asked to fill in some on the schedule for blackjack, and I think I am supposed to be dealing blackjack at the Vic that night. Don’t really need a part time job on top of the eP thing… but its helping out, and I never was one to complain about spare cash.

Well… I think that is a general update on everything… let me know if I missed anything lol!

Harry Potter 2nd theatrical trailer is up!

AOL is hosting it… and it looks pretty damn cool. If you never did like the series… well… skip this one, but I liked this book the best so far-so I am going to enjoy this film quite a bit.

Are you REALLY that old? The original Jumpman, Nintendo’s cash cow and most recognized video game character today turns 20 years old. Where were you when you first played Super Mario Bros? How fast can you run through the first game? Remember the minus world? Link goes to wikipedia quotes from Mario-related stuffs.

Wow… I am that old. Yet – hey mario rocks and oddly enough still does? I’ve noticed recently that we tend to still like the old games. A couple of friends of my girlfriend and I came across an old NES this past week. We (well mostly dominated by our girlfriends) spent the entire weekend playing Dr. Mario. What is it about these old school games that keep us sucked in and addicted? Even after all of these years?

I for one can attest a desire to play once again the original Zelda came.
